Las Pesqueras is an area of pools that nature has carved out along the river Ulldemdó for eight kilometres into the interior of the Ports. These are natural pools where you can enjoy bathing in the countryside. What will surprise you about these waters is their turquoise colour and the temperature, which is quite warm.

If we walk a section of the route we can see some of the fantastic viewpoints that have been created in the Racó de Sant Antoni. Their purpose is to be able to admire the landscape and get to know the Ulldemó river and its flora and fauna better.

Located in the heart of Matarraña, the village and its streets make up one of the most marvellous places in the region. Declared a Historic Site, in its medieval streets, full of beautiful corners, monuments such as the church of Santa María, one of the greatest examples of Gothic architecture in Aragon, the castle of Valderrobres, also Gothic, and the town hall, an outstanding example of an Aragonese Renaissance palace, stand out.

A small town with a great history. Where wandering through its streets and squares will take you back to the past. Not forgetting its gastronomy and its 16th century town hall made up of Gothic and Renaissance elements.

A beautiful town in the Matarraña region, just a few kilometres from the province of Tarragona, which was declared a Historic-Artistic Site in 1973. From its Plaza Mayor, with its town hall dating back to 1609, weave the routes through the village, through its beautiful streets, and where we can see ancestral stone houses decorated with wrought iron balconies, churches or squares such as that of Los Artistas.

It stands out for its historical heritage, such as the Calatrava Castle and the Santa María la Mayor Church. Also, close to the city is the MotorLand Aragón speed circuit, which hosts international sporting events. Easter Week in Alcañiz is an important festival, with religious processions.

If you travel through the Maestrazgo region, you must not forget to visit the marvellous town of Morella. Its geographical location has played a key role in the course of the centuries and historical events. Morella has witnessed important episodes for all civilisations. We cannot leave out its castle and the surrounding walls, which already make an impact on visitors when they arrive. The Archpriestly Basilica, the characteristic porticoed streets or the town hall building with the 14th century prison are other examples of the monuments on offer.

If you visit Valderrobres you have to enter its 12th century castle, where you can enjoy the curiosities and views from the parade ground, and at the same time you can visit the 14th century Gothic church of Santa María la Mayor, connected by a passageway.

The museum, built in the old schools of the town, is a space that houses the art and traditions of the town and the Matarraña region, as well as a collection of works sculpted in stone by Carlos Orona and a part of the museum is dedicated to the life and work of Elvira Hidalgo.

A tour of the old dungeons of the region. The route includes nine localities of Matarraña that show prison spaces from the 16th and 18th centuries. Most of the prisons are located on the ground floor of the town halls, the spaces are small, with no ventilation, and you can find chains, rings, stocks and doors.

The small settlements and the numerous burial mounds distributed throughout the territory show that the Matarraña is the land of the Iberians. The region offers a wide range of cultural activities related to this world. Visiting the numerous sites from the Iberian period that form part of the Iberian Route of Aragon means travelling back in time, discovering our ancestors and living history.

Museum dedicated to the archaeologist Juan Cabré, born in the town, who promoted archaeological excavations in the region. There is also a section of contemporary art by various Aragonese and international artists. A must for anyone who likes archaeology and history.
